What to do after the engagement?

Excited for the big day? Let’s talk about the preparations. If the christmas has 12 days, we Indays have 12 months for the big day!  We gathered some helpful checklist for you Inday.

12 MONTHS

  1. Choose a date – You and your husband to be need to talk about this one.
  2. Save the date – Announcing. Today most of the couple used the social media to announce the date for their big day. So millennial right? You can post all the updates about your wedding there too.
  3. Budget – We have the saying that the groom is the one who will be paying all the expenses but now it’s not applicable. You and your husband to be needs to seriously talk about this.
  4. Gathered ideas for your big day – We’re talking about the theme, bridal gown, hair and make up, shoes, invitations, venue, suppliers, and etc. All the big and small details for your wedding.
  5. Maid of honor and brides maid – This is the hardest part for all the bride because we all want our besties to be part of the entourage but we can’t. So better choose wisely.
  6. Best man and groomsmen – Talk to your fiance about this one.
  7. Book a prenup pictorial – Search for the right photographer for you and your fiance. Check our instagram www.instagram.com/indayeverafter for some recommended photographers and check their sample works. We surely that you will end up booking a photographer after checking it.
  8. Guest list – If you both have a big family, I suggest the RSVP.
  9. Wedding planner – Think if you need one or no. But we have Ate Mayette to help you planning your big day. Check their facebook  page  www.facebook.com/pg/eventsbymcc.
  10. Venue – Start to make a short list for your wedding venue. Check their place and packages. Some of them have promos.
  11. Caterer – Make a short list too. Attend a food tasting event. Some caterers have tie ups with venues.
  12. Photographer and  Videographer – This is the most important. Don’t go cheap on finding one for your big day because all of the photos and videos that they will capture will last forever. Again check our instagram for our recommended suppliers.
  13. Wedding gown – search designs for your dream wedding gown and veil. Make a folder for this one on your desktop or laptop. Some bride to be make their gown a 2 in 1 design. Wedding gown and after party dress.

10 MONTHS

  1. Legal documents and seminars – Attend seminars and get all document needed for your wedding such as marriage license, NSO birth certificate and etc.  .
  2. Florist – Make a short list too for this one and flower arrangements you want for you and your entourage.
  3. Accessories – Accessories that will compliment your wedding gown and for your bridesmaid too.
  4. Book venues – Be ready for the down payments and set ups you want for your wedding ceremony and reception.
  5. Book officiant – Choose a officiant that you know and discuss your plan for the ceremony.
  6. Book caterer – The caterer that impressed your taste buds.
  7. Book musicians – Some of the venues have their own musicians that includes in their packages.
  8. Book photographer and videographer – Choose wisely.
  9. Schedule a visit to your designer – Visit your designer to finalize your wedding gown design and to get your measurements.
  10. Fitness routine – Make sure to stay fit until your wedding day.

8 MONTHS

  1. Research hotel – Place where you and your husband to be will stay before the big day.
  2. Finalize guest list -Total head count so you can tell your caterer and venue supplier. And so you can decide how many invitations and wedding favors you need.
  3. Book a florist – Bring the flower arrangement picture you want  for you and your entourage. Make sure that our supplier can make those arrangements.
  4. Wedding shoes design – Look for wedding shoes design online or in the mall.

6 MONTHS

  1. Wedding invitation and thank you card – Look for invitation and thank you card design that goes with your theme.
  2. HMUA – research for the one that will make you stunning on your big day.
  3. Honeymoon – Begin to look for places for we’re do you want to spend the first night with your husband.
  4. Wedding cake – Look for a supplier and discuss the design you want. Maybe before placing order you might to schedule cake tasting.
  5. Bridesmaid and groomsmen Attire – Look for designs that you like. Just make sure that they will be comfortable wear it before giving it to the designer.
  6. Bridal car – Book a bridal car.

4 MONTHS

  1. Fitting – Schedule dress fitting.
  2. Playlist – Prepare the song playlist for the DJ, both ceremony and reception.
  3. Wedding invitation – Look for the supplier that can make you wedding invitations. it’s up to you if you will give all your guest but it is more practical if you will give the Ninong and Ninangs only because you have the save the date in social media.
  4. Favors and thank you card – Start ordering wedding guest favor and for your sponsors. Make sure to include thank you card.
  5. Pre-wedding counseling – This is important. This is we’re you will have proper knowledge about marriage life. You will know if you are ready or not.

3 MONTHS

  1. Miscellaneous items – Purchase guestbook (some photographer packages includes this),  unity candles and etc.
  2. Menu – Finalize your menu for your wedding day.
  3. Dance lesson – If you want to wow your guest you might wan t to do this.
  4. Seating arrangement – Plan the seating arrangement ahead of time.
  5. Hair – Make sure you book a schedule to try your hair-do for your wedding. Some of the bride to be has a last minute change because the hair-do doesn’t compliments them.
  6.  Mail invitations – Make sure to mail the invitations ahead of time so your sponsors and guest can prepare too.

2 MONTHS

  1. RSVP’s – Organized the rsvp’s beacause some bride to be failed to do this and it ended them paying more to the suppliers. You don’t want your guest uncomfortable attending your wedding by just standing, right?
  2. Vows – Start to make wedding vows.
  3. Wedding programs – Lay out the programs you want for your ceremony and reception. If you have a wedding planner you might want to schedule a meeting.
  4. Seating arrangements – Finalized the arrangements. Where do you want the sponsors table placed, etc.
  5. Dresses and Tux – Finalize fittings and attire for your family, bridesmain and groomsmen.

1 MONTH

  1. Suppliers – Call all your suppliers to confirm the details for your wedding. Make sure to double check if they have the details of your wedding. The time, date and locations.
  2. Final wedding gown fitting – Last fitting before your wedding so you can see if there is anything you want to change.
  3. Honeymoon – Pack for your honeymoon. Always bring ID’s.
  4. RSVP’s – Follow up the guest who haven’t respond.

2 WEEKS

  1. Final head  count – Give the  final head count to your caterer.
  2. Musicians – check if they have the playlist for your wedding that you give them.
  3. Direction to bridal car n- Give them a copy of directions/ map.

1 WEEK

  1. Payments – Finalize your payment to your suppliers. It is better to give the last payment after the event.
  2. Emergency Kit – Prepare one for emergency because you can’t tell what will happen on your wedding day.
  3. Scripts – Send the copy of the scripts of your reader for your ceremony.
  4. Instructions for supplier- Give instructions to your photographer and videographer, such as call time and locations.
  5. Pamper – Give yourself a time to pamper.

1 DAY BEFORE

  1. Manicure and pedicure – Get this done.
  2. Relax – Make yourself relaxed and have a beauty rest.

WEDDING DAY

  1. Breakfast – Eat a heavy meal because you will not going to have time to eat when the preparation starts. And stay dehydrated.
  2. Enjoy! – Have fun and savor the moment.
